Produced in collaboration with Amy Thornley.
These are the results of a project that started with the word ‘fake’, which led us to set up a fake design studio. From the environment itself, down to the work and the interactions with others, everything in this project was a complete forgery.
Primarily the concept was to see how pretending to be something we weren’t would make us tap into our inner child and allow us to access the purest form of creativity, make believe. As this project progressed we began to explore the professional process of running a design business, how it could be exploited thus allowing us to break design ethics. This disregard for ethics was to make the fraud all the more obvious whilst trying to gauge the reaction of the design community.
